Tikka Muhammad Abbas Khan

Co-Founder | Counselion

Biography

Tikka Muhammad Abbas Khan graduated from Colgate University with a double major in International Relations and Political Science, where he developed a strong foundation in analytical thinking, global affairs, and interdisciplinary research within a rigorous liberal arts environment.

During his undergraduate studies, he also undertook an academic exchange at the University of Edinburgh, further broadening his exposure to international academic systems.

He later pursued an MSc in International Development and Humanitarian Emergencies at the London School of Economics and Political Science, where his work combined academic rigor with applied research, including collaboration with international organizations.

His focus centered on structured analysis, stakeholder engagement, and the development of clear, research-driven insights within complex environments.

Following his academic experience, Tikka has worked as an independent consultant across education, universities, and institutional initiatives, developing a disciplined and strategic approach to advisory work across both individual and system-level contexts.

Over the past several years, his work has focused on navigating highly competitive global evaluation systems, particularly within academic admissions. His approach is grounded not in isolated application components, but in understanding how profiles are interpreted within broader institutional frameworks.

He works by:

  • identifying underlying patterns within a profile
  • structuring direction over time
  • ensuring alignment between academic intent, experience, and long-term positioning

This approach applies not only to individuals, but to how institutions design, evaluate, and position themselves within increasingly competitive global environments.

As Co-Founder of Counselion, Tikka leads the firm's advisory philosophy and strategic direction. Working closely with his team, he oversees the development of structured, high-impact advisory frameworks, ensuring that each engagement reflects clarity, coherence, and disciplined execution.

His work is defined by a focus on precision over volume, structure over activity, and positioning over accumulation.

Rather than emphasizing what has been done, he focuses on how it is understood, aligned, and evaluated, ensuring that ambition is translated into clear, actionable direction.
